Today, Twin Palms drop their debut track ‘Tranquilo’, joined by Kat Dahlia & Demarco to create an irresistible summer jam.

Twin Palms is the new project from Captain Planet and Raphael Futura – two DJ/producers who have individually worked on multi-platinum hits for Trey Songs, hip-hop anthems for Lloyd Banks and Raekwon, and global dancefloor bangers for Jesse Royal and Shungudzo. They now combine to build a sonic bridge connecting Jamaican Dancehall, Reggaeton, Afrobeats and forward-thinking electronic dance music that’s irresistibly danceable.

Speaking on the track, the duo add “We’re very excited to share ‘Tranquilo’, the first taste of what we’ve been cooking up together as Twin Palms. It’s funny that we made this song about partying and being wild during a time when we couldn’t really do that at all. We were joking about how even with a crowd of people at your house getting lit, it’s not a party, it’s chill, it’s tranquilo. Now feels like the perfect time to release a banger like this because everyone is able to actually get loose and party together again. Kat always brings her signature attitude and raspy soul, then Demarco absolutely murdered his verses, turning the energy up to 11. Go ahead and invite all your folks over, it’s not a party, it’s tranquilo.”

Captain Planet & Raphael Futura met during a DJ gig at the chic Mama Shelter Hotel in Hollywood. Initially connecting over their shared love of musical influences, the two began working together on music for other artists, including producing the critically acclaimed Reyna album for Niña Dioz. Soon after, the two decided to start cooking up a side project of their own and Twin Palms was born. With their intention firmly set on intertwining the rhythms of their varied musical tastes, the two began making original tracks that fit as well in a club or festival DJ set, as they do blasting from a little boombox at a backyard BBQ. Look out for more big things from these two in the year ahead.

Kat Dahlia is a triple threat lyricist, singer, and songwriter. Hailing from Miami, Dahlia effortlessly blends the sounds of Latin, Pop, R&B, and Reggaeton to create music that is fresh, passionate, and honest.

Demarco is a Dancehall star who’s credentials add instant gravitas to the track, having written songs for artists ranging from Bounty Killer to Rihanna.

Don’t miss Twin Palms’ “Tranquilo” release party this Sunday, July 11th at Caña Rum Bar in Los Angeles, 3-9PM, featuring fellow Nacional Records artist Niña Dioz.
