This is an action-packed double live CD from global star Manu Chao. Recorded in 2008 at France’s prestigious Roman Amphitheater in Bayonne and in front of tens of thousands of fans, “Baionarena” includes 33 tracks, featuring a variety of recent hits, older classics and rarities performed at Manu’s standard level of high-energy raucousness. Song highlights include “Clandestino,” “La Vida Tombola,” “Mala Vida,” Desaparecido” and “Bienvenida A Tijuana.” The special iTunes version of the release features a variety of videos from the “Baionarena” live DVD.

Latin Bitman

Growing up surfing on the northern coast of Chile, Latin Bitman combines the chill-out beach vibes of his childhood with the funky urban sounds of his cosmopolitan home of Santiago. Bitman builds each track from scratch, creating his own samples, then mixing and re-mixing them to form the song. “Colour” features a variety of vocalists including the fiery MC Ana Tijoux (her Nacional debut album “1977” out on iTunes 3/9/10), chanteuse Francisca Valenzuela and rapper Tea Time.

Pacha Massive

On “If You Want It,” New York City’s own Pacha Massive brings the group’s signature funky bilingual fusion of dub and electronica with Latin rhythms like cumbia and palo. The album is the follow-up to Pacha’s critically-acclaimed debut “All Good Things.” They were MTV Tr3s’ first “Descubre and Download” artist.

Andrea Echeverri (Aterciopelados)

The critically-acclaimed solo album from the lead singer of Aterciopelados was produced by Hector Buitrago (also of Aterciopelados) and Richard Blair (Sidestepper), and mixed by Thom Russo (Juanes, Kinky, Johnny Cash). After the critical and commercial success of 2001’s “Gozo Poderoso,” which landed Aterciopelados on the Top 10 of Billboard Top Latin Albums Sales chart, as well as, a coveted appearance on the “Tonight Show with Jay Leno,” Echeverri took time off for the birth of her first child Milagros, who proved to be a new point of artistic inspiration.
