When it rains, it pours! Get ready Los Angeles, because we’ve got 6 (count ‘em six!) Nacional artists coming through the city of angels for concerts in the month of May .
To kick things off, Barcelona’s indie-electro pop band The Pinker Tones will be headlining at the El Rey on May 16th. Then the next night, Chilean hip-hop star Ana Tijoux will be at The Echo on May 17th. She’s bringing her full band and performing tracks from her new album ‘La Bala‘ in the US for the first time, so it’s sure to be a great show.
Currently in the midst of a European tour, NYC songstress Monica Lionheart (vocalist of Pacha Massive and Zigmat) will be back stateside an appearance at the Bootleg Bar on May 20th. And then it’s recently-signed indie band Loquat at the Satellite May 26th in support of their new album, released 4/24/12. Check out Loquat’s new video for the lead single “Time Bending” to get an idea of what to expect from the Bay Area quintet.
On Memorial Day Weekend, Kinky — the newest member of the Nacional family — will be one of the headlining bands at this year’s Jubilee Festival in Silverlake. Hailing from Monterrey and always coming through with amazing evergy on-stage, Kinky is definitely one of those must-see bands. And then finally, on the last day of the month, Diego Garcia will come to LA for a very special performance at the First Unitarian Church in conjunction with Levitt Pavilion on May 31st.
So if you live in LA or you’ve been looking for an excuse to visit, get your tickets now because these shows will sell out!
