Much-anticipated record drops in October via Nacional.

Colombian electronic duo Monareta sees their new album Picotero issued by alternative Latin music specialists Nacioinal on October 7th. The group has previously released two digital albums, ‘La Bonanza’ and a self-titled release, via Nacional’s digital label but this one will get the full physical and digital rollout.

Nati here, keeping you IN THE LOOP and BACKSTAGE with us!

If you haven’t heard of Eric Bobo, well, firstly, you’re missing out and secondly, you’ve probably heard his work. Eric, son of famed Fania percussionist Willie Bobo and he himself an accomplished percussionist with the Beastie Boys and Cypress Hill [and producer/collaborator on other projects], is releasing his solo record called “M.O.T.M” on Nacional Records later this fall! I can’t share any songs with you quite yet, but we’ve been bumping the record loudly in the office and it’s like a little stew of all the influences surrounding Bobo - from hip-hop to drum-n-bass and rock as well!

This week, the Nacional staff celebrated Bobo’s birthday with him and his super cool friends at Verdugo Bar. After noshing on delicious Porto’s and breaking our necks to the DJ spinning everything from Black Sheep to Cypress to Wu-Tang to old salsa classics and everything in between, we managed to get a group shot with the birthday boy himself. CHEESE!

Did you see 28 Days Later or one of those Sci-Fi movies in which a deadly virus (or zombie fever or whatever) is so contagious it spreads like wildfire and drives everybody crazy?

That is the premise of The Pinker Tones’ fun new video, for their single “Fugaz”, produced and shot in their hometown of Barcelona by Alioli Films, the duo of Celia Galan and Ana Lorenz.

We love this track off the Pinker’s album Wild Animals, it doesn’t really have lyrics so its hard to sing along, making it irresistible and catchy. We love it even more paired with the video.

This elaborate mini movie (with credits at the end y todo) is a Thriller-type dance craze of two chicas who are possessed and take on the city….well we’re not going to give it away, just watch in this Remezcla Exclusive web video premiere in our Video Section (click on New!) and below.

Manu Chao rocked the Bullring in Tijuana on Sunday. Manu Chao is such a musical force touching so many different people and cultures on so many different levels. The live stage show is explosive to say the least. People were jumping from the upper levels into the roaring, swirling pit below on many of the punked up numbers in his 2 and a half hour set. Salutes world - Nati here, writing to you from SAN FRANCISCO, land of Rice-a-Roni AND the Outside Lands Festival this weekend where our one and only, MANU CHAO is set to play THIS FRIDAY. Wooooo!

Here at headquarters, we’re getting ready for Manu and Radio Bemba to arrive and get ready to play an incredible set. This will be the first time the city of San Francisco puts on a show at night at the park, and I was told by a friend [meaning it could be wrong!] that it’s the first time since 1969 a show has gone on there, period! While I had memories of what it must have been like in SF in the 1960’s - I realized how excited I am to watch Manu live as the clouds engulf the mountains with the cityscape reflecting off the bay!
